With the coronavirus striking a variety of places around the world and measures being put into place regarding travel and large gatherings, the Education Committee has had to make some immediate decisions regarding Wisconsin Academy and its activities.
First, based on what other Adventist secondary schools are doing, the academy will be having students do distance-learning from home for the week following spring break. This will give us more time to see how this situation progresses and will allow us to look into any further action that needs to be taken. The teachers will be here at school and will be sending homework to the students for that week.
Second, Music Festival and Education Fair are being canceled. We know a lot of students and teachers will be disappointed, but doing so is in their best interest. We don’t want to take any risks.
Speaking of risks, Alumni Weekend is a large event that involves a huge amount of people; therefore, we will reschedule it for the fall. Principal Rasmussen will work with the Alumni Committee to find a date that will work best.
Thank you for your understanding and support in these hectic and chaotic times.
