Dear Mission Trip Parents:
It is with heavy hearts we are letting you know about the cancellation of the mission trip due to circumstances beyond our control. This decision has come after much prayer and discussion.
We have been watching reports and communicating with the insurance company and airline. Based on the information we received, we determined this to be the best course of action.
Many of our schools in the Lake Union as well as throughout the United States are canceling their mission trips. Our students’ safety is of the utmost importance. With the world being in a state of chaos right now, it seems best not to put our students at risk.
We greatly appreciate the prayers and support from you and your churches. We recognize that the students will be disappointed, and we are sorry for that. We also realize that parents and churches may be disappointed as well.
In spite of this cancellation, we are still committed to the construction of the church, the evangelistic crusade, and the medical mission in the Philippines. Please know the work will go on in spite of our students’ absence.
We know some of you contributed your personal funds to this mission trip. We are working with insurance and the airline to see if there is any refund possible. We will update you as more information becomes available.
Again, we are truly sorry that the students will be missing this amazing opportunity; however, we trust that God is in control.
Please pray that God will bless the work going on in the Philippines even if our students cannot directly be a part of it.

Estimados Padres del Grupo Misionero:
Es con gran pesar que le estamos informando sobre la cancelación del viaje de la misión debido a circunstancias fuera de nuestro control. Hemos llegado a esta decisión después de mucha oración y discusión.
Hemos estado observando informes y comunicándonos con la compañía de seguros y la de aerolíneas. Según la información que recibimos, determinamos que este es el mejor curso de acción.
Muchas de nuestras escuelas en Lake Union y en todo Estados Unidos están cancelando sus viajes misioneros. La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes es de suma importancia. Con el mundo en un estado de caos en este momento, parece mejor no poner en riesgo a nuestros estudiantes.
Apreciamos enormemente las oraciones y el apoyo de usted y las de sus iglesias. Reconocemos que los estudiantes estarán decepcionados, y lamentamos por eso. También tomamos en cuenta de que los padres y los miembros de las iglesias también pueden estar decepcionados.
A pesar de esta cancelación, todavía estamos comprometidos con la construcción de la iglesia, la cruzada evangelística y la misión médica en Filipinas. Por favor sepa que el trabajo continuará a pesar de la ausencia de nuestros estudiantes.
Sabemos que algunos de ustedes contribuyeron con fondos personales para este viaje misionero. Estamos trabajando con el seguro y la aerolínea para ver si hay algún reembolso posible. Los mantendremos informados a medida que haya más información disponible.
Nuevamente, lamentamos mucho que los estudiantes pierdan esta increíble oportunidad; sin embargo, confiamos en que Dios tiene el control.
Oremos para que Dios bendiga el trabajo que se realizará en Filipinas, aunque nuestros alumnos no pueden ser parte directa de él.
