Last Sabbath, WAY team (Wisconsin Academy Youth) groups visited churches at Hylandale and Portage, sharing and enjoying fellowship with our friends.
Six students visited Portage. They helped with music, scripture and prayer, special music, and the children’s story. The church was very warm and welcoming, providing a delicious lunch for us. Students remarked that they especially enjoyed the pastor’s sermon.
A second group of nine students, including the WA drama team, visited Hylandale. We also helped with music, scripture and prayer, special music, children’s story, and other elements of the service. Members of the drama team shared a short skit on prayer and shared about the ways God wants us to come to Him as a friend. Again, we enjoyed a wonderful potluck and fellowship. After potluck, students enjoyed sliding down the hill next to the church and taking a short excursion down a frozen creek. We were truly blessed.
WAY Teams exist to give students experience in sharing the love of Jesus in churches across Wisconsin. This is one way Wisconsin Academy is training students to be “Fit to Serve.”
