As the sun sank low across the rolling fields, we gathered the welcome the Sabbath around a large blazing campfire out behind the women’s dorm. The Student Association officers had planned the evening – the first vespers outdoor vespers this spring. We sang while we watched the fire burn, then listened as students shared the ways God has been working in their lives this year. After the organized program ended, we gathered in a large circle around the fire and continued to sing until it was time to head back to the dorms. Thank-you SA officers and sponsors. This was a beautiful and restful way to enter God’s holy time.
