On March 13, some students took a field trip to the headquarters of the TREK Bicycle Corporation in Waterloo, Wisconsin. We toured the factory where custom bikes are built (no pictures allowed there) and heard the story of how the company began 44 years ago. We watched as custom painting was applied, spokes and wheels assembled, braking systems put together, and the final product was sent. TREK has many factories worldwide with distributors in 99 countries. Most bikes built here at the headquarters cost tens of thousands of dollars.
