The Boys’ Dorm

A Home Away From Home

Our young men have everything they need in order to feel comfortable and are so blessed by the generous gifts that have made this beautiful facility possible. Each resident has their own closet, built in desk area along with drawers for storage, and plenty of living space. There is a large bathroom with a shower between each pair of rooms. The boys enjoy a spacious lobby area with a fireplace and plenty of sitting room. There is a large television where the boys watch sports, news and nature shows, as well as 3ABN and other programming. The boys have a full kitchen for their use, a well equipped laundry room, a study room with Internet access, and a chapel where we have our worships. There is also a restroom off the lobby for our guests to use. If you go down stairs you will find a recreation room with a pool table, ping pong table, fooseball table, and more. The WA Men’s Dormitory is truly a home away from home.

Each weeknight in the dorm the boys have worship. This is a time for spiritual renewal. We start most worships with a song service. Contrary to what many might think, the guys actually enjoy this singing time. After singing we have a worship thought. Sometimes the deans give the talk and other times it is a student. Once or twice a week we try to have a guest speaker. Local pastors enjoy coming in and speaking to the boys then following up with Bible studies with those who are interested. After worship the boys have a study hall. This is quiet time that enables them to get their studies completed. Tutors are available for the guys who need help, and special arrangements are made for students who are struggling.

Dorm cleanliness is something the WA Men’s dormitory takes a lot of pride in. There are room checks each weekday. On Friday, two ladies come from the girls’ dorm and two guys go to the ladies’ dorm. With the dean’s supervision they inspect each other’s rooms. It’s amazing how this practice motivates the students to have their rooms clean and tidy!

Each time you enter our dorm, you are met with our dorm verse. Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12. We talk often about our young men being an example in these ways. Feel free to visit us anytime.
