Graduation Requirements

GENERAL DIPLOMA

It is the student’s responsibility to take the courses necessary for graduation. To receive a general diploma, a student must satisfactorily complete 23 credits which must include the following:

  • One year of religion for each year spent in an Adventist academy
  • Computer – 1 credit
  • English – 4 credits
  • Fine Arts – 0.5 credits
  • Health – 0.5 credits
  • Mathematics – 3 credits
  • Physical Education – 2 credits
  • Science – 3 credits
  • Social Studies – 3 credits
  • Vocational – 1 credit
  • Electives – to meet required credits

The student must have a least a 1.00 cumulative GPA. The student must be enrolled as a member of the senior class the semester immediately preceding the expected date of graduation. No more than two credits of music and two credits of physical education may apply towards the 23 credits required for
graduation.

ACADEMIC DIPLOMA

To receive an academic diploma, a student must satisfactorily complete 24 credits which must include the following:

  • One year of religion for each year spent in an Adventist academy
  • Computer – 1 credit
  • English – 4 credits
  • Fine Arts – 0.5 credits
  • Foreign Language – 2 credits
  • Health – 0.5 credits
  • Mathematics – 3 credits (minimum requirements include Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2)
  • Physical Education – 2 credits
  • Science – 3 credits (excludes general science)
  • Social Studies – 3 credits
  • Electives – 1 credit minimum
Students following the outlined classes for an academic diploma are required to maintain a C- or better in each of their classes, and they must have at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA. The student must be enrolled as a member of the senior class the semester immediately preceding the expected date of graduation. No more than two credits of music and two credits of physical education may apply towards the 24 credits required for graduation.
