Day by Day at WA

Spring Break is over, and the students are getting back into the swing of things. While tiredly attending classes, the Gymnastics and Music groups are getting ready to go on a weekend-long trip to Wilson, Michigan. Seniors had another fundraising evening at Culver’s, coming out with a little more of the needed funding for their class trip. While everyone is probably still sleeping in their mind after a restful Spring Break, school has resumed and we are headed down the home stretch with the last quarter of the school year.

Day by Day at WA

The last stretch until Spring Break has been leaving students antsy to complete schoolwork and required events. Last weekend, we were blessed by Adventist Frontier Missions speaking during the Sabbath services. Sunday was a Service Day, where groups helped clean the campus and sing at a retirement home.  On Tuesday, seniors interviewed with William Navalon from Andrews University about future college plans.  Thursday, the WA Knights gymnastic team performed at Wausau, leaving behind a quiet campus.  Finally, at the end of the week, the Wisconsin Academy students will go home for a well-deserved week-long break.

Day by Day at WA

Recently, the WA students have been bombarded with Music and Gymnastics Tours galore. The music students are also able to sometimes get away from school when they are offered opportunities to go to concert halls to listen to music. Meanwhile, back at the school, the leftover students enjoy fun Saturday night activities like swimming and board games. Other academically-related events have been going on recently too, such as SciFest, NHS Induction, and Education Fair.

On Wednesday this week, five Wisconsin Academy students and two teachers traveled to Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.  The students are participating in the annual Music Festival sponsored by the A.U. Music Department.  This year’s festival is featuring piano and band musicians.

Students playing in the band are Kyrie King and Miranda Wredberg.  Jacki Flores, Jared Marsh, and Alex Wredberg will be improving their piano skills.  The staff and sponsors for this event are Clinton Anderson, Director of the Music Department and Karen White, Piano Teacher.  The Festival began Wednesday evening, March 4, and concludes with a concert on Sabbath afternoon, March 7.
